I think gerbils are GREAT pets. Anyone else agree? |

I just can't get enough of them. They are super cute, make little "waste", friendly disposition, quiet, little to no odor, cost only a couple dollars a month to feed, and they have little health problems. I think they are perfect!

| AceJayce (7) | 1 year ago | Sometimes my gerbils bite my fingers when they don´t like something, but it´s barely felt as it´s not strong, so I take it as a warning (sometimes it happens when I take then out the cage) Clean? Yes, they are. And oh - they love so much to shred paper like there´s no tomorrow. Toilet paper core and cardboard are no more in minutes - I even joked once about not needing to buy a paper shedder.

2. maximax8 (4133) | 1 year ago | I agree with you. I have had lots of gerbils when I was younger. My first two were Nod and Wink. One was grey and the other one was brown. They used to dig around in a large tank. They used to chew things like cardboard rolls. They were charming to watch. Years later I got Salt and Pepper. One was black and white and the other was a siamease brown. They were also very playful. They had a house made from plastic and comiing home from work one day I saw Salt was missing! She had bitten her way out! I found my telephone wire had been cheeed in half. It took ages to find her. I was so pleased to get her back. Yes, gerbils are perfect.

4. pinkcarebear1350 (116) | 1 year ago | I think they're great pets! Much more friendly then hamsters. They're not really aggressive. (I've had quite a few gerbils through the years and I've never had one even try to bite me.) I think their such cute little guys, I love my gerbils.

| 5. AceJayce (7) | 1 year ago | Got 2 gerbils to take care last year, one died then got 2 more (all 3 are male, dont want they breeding). Very clean, only noise I hear is their acute squeaking, almost no odor (much better than hamsters). They love to dust-wash (dont know how is it in English, they roll over carbonate dust to clean their fur). They dont sleep all day and are cuuuute. The older (almost 2 years atm)is so tame he come to my hand and if I let he climbs to my shoulder and back to my hand.
