How do you get a teenager interested in reading?

my son used to love books until he reached jr. high and now he hates to read. Any ideas to motivate the desire to read. I love reading, read in front of my children constantly, have them read to me on occasions, but they hate it....

Get him some book which he likes. Novels like Chronicles of narnia are really nice.

There's no way he'll sit down and read for pleasure, especially a novel. I have found that he'll read motorcycle mags, football info and stats. Just wish I could get him to love books as much as I do, if not more.

Try books about football and stuff that he likes. And there are shorter novels out there. And check out the non-fiction section in the library for books on real sports stars.

Thanks! I do put sports mags out for him and he will read them. I guess it's just keep putting it in front of him and showing him how I enjoy reading too.
