If you eat natural nuts, not heated or roasted, they could improve your health.
----
You should be careful if you eat medicine that makes your blood thinner, because some nuts often has the same effect.
-----
There is a lot of good stuff in them. Vegetarian Omega3 is one and you will find a lot more information if you make a Google search.
-----
If you wish to lose weight, it is the best snack you can think of, nuts do not raise your blood sugar so your body does not get any signal to store the extra sugar as fat, as happens if you eat chips or sweets.
------
I have been sooo happy to learn that good fats actually are not fattening at all!!!
-----
Any suggestions on how to use nuts without heating them and thus keeping the benefiting from all the good things in them???

You can dress up yogurt with raw nuts. Sliced or chopped almonds, pecans, walnuts are all great. People will often roast these to use even as toppings, but I like to use them raw and mix them all throughout the yogurt. Raw pine nuts (pignolas) and raw sunflower seeds are great to add to salads. Speaking of good fats, Avocado is one of them so don't feel guilty about adding sliced avocados or guacamole to your salads, burgers, sandwiches or whatever! Aloha!

Thanks, meeoww - sounds yummy. I love avocados but we have a too cold climate to grow them outdoors. But I have an avocado plant indoors, without fruits - but it is rather tall now. I hope to get some fruit from it some time if it´s possible to get it from only one tree...?
Of course we get imported fruits and veggies here but they are not the same as they are in California.
I have to try that nut yoghurt soon.

I also agree and have upped my nuts consumption, particularly almonds!
