Why do my media players freeze whenever i try to play a video?

Maybe you don't have the correct codec for your media player. I you prefer to still use Windows media player, you can download a free all-in-one codec system in K-lite codecs. If you want an alternative to windows media player but plays all formats and video and audio streams, You can download VLC Media player (www.videolan.org/vlc)

i will recommend you to use Media Player Classic instead of Microsoft windows media player

All of your media players do this? It could be just an old slow computer, a bad video card or your torrents might need a certain codec to be downloaded and installed before you can play them.
I always use a free player called VLC. It's awesome and I can play anything on it without worrying about the codec.
