Like USB sticks can only hold info for about 10 years, does something similar happen to DVDs?

I don't think so leny I was told they hold them forever, someone advised me to tranfer all my video tapes that mean a lot to me to DVD so I will have them forever so I guess they keep whatever stored for as long as you keep the DVD in good order.

DVDs, like CDs can only store information for about 2-5 years, if they are stored properly.
In the case of rewritable CDs/DVDs, they will start getting errors after about 100-200 overwrites.
