Will there be a soul on earth sans Worries? A prince and a pauper – educated and uneducated – Men and women all will have their own share of worries. It goes without saying worries multiply the woes. They put stress on the heart. In this process, the heart attempts to meet the extra load. The increase in the muscle mass of the heart leads to an enlarged heart. This is the starting point of woes. Congestive heart failure, angina or heart attack could be the result.
The cause is visible. What about cure. Certainly, there is a way to arrest the ailment. First and foremost is to stop worrying about trivialities. Have faith in yourself and let positive thinking rule the roost. After all no human being is fully laden with sorrows or fully with happiness. It is an admixture of both.. This aspect of life should be exploited to the hilt. It’s simple. When sadness surrounds you, just think or make an effort to recall a pleasant incident or happening that took place in your past. In the beginning, that particular incident may not stay in your mind for a long time. But with a little more effort the happy moment can be stabilized for much more time.. This effort will gradually drift you from the quagmire of melancholy to mirth. Try don’t give up..
Next remedy is regulated breathing. Sit in a comfortable position on the floor. You need not be particular about intricate padmasanas or vajrasanas. Start inhaling and exhaling in your normal way. While inhaling and exhaling make a mental note of the duration of inhaling and exhaling. That is, when the first whiff of air enters your nostrils, count as 1. Then count 2, 3 and so on. The pacing of the numbers is purely your choice. The count need not be as precise as a stop watch. After inhalation to your capacity, hold your breath for some time. And don’t forget to make a mental note of holding time. Then the exhalation. This is the most important point of the process. The whole idea is to adhere to the equation I=6, E=12 and H=18.where I stands for inhalation time,E for exhalation time and H for holding time. Just this is a guideline.Dont dodge your system to religiously stick to the equation in the very first attempt. Be comfortable and gradually increase the pace and duration. Make it a habit. Devote a few minutes to this workout every day. Then see how miraculously your carbon dioxide levels are under your control. Above all you will be free from irrational thoughts and feelings of imminent doom’s day.
