I went on a fly-in fishing trip with some friends

I have always enjoyed fishing. It relaxes me, sometimes. :) I enjoy watching fishing shows and learning new tactics for fishing and it's fun watching them get excited. I just love yelling "FISH ON" when I am out with my fishing buddies. Watching shows like that would make me long to go on a real fishing trip, somewhere not close to home. But that takes time and money to plan so I never got around to it. Until... ... a friend was getting married and his father thought it would be a nice gift to take him on a fishing trip and I was invited and given an extra spot on the plane to take a friend. It wasn't free but I didn't have to do the planning or booking. Just pay and go and I was up for that. I had plenty of time to prepare and figure out how to pay for it. I talked it over with my wife, good choice, and I decided that I would quit drinking coffee and give up that muffin in the morning plus I would give up drinking pop. I drank two cups of purchased coffee and a muffin and at least two bottles of pop a day. I started putting that money aside and did that for the entire six months before our trip. The friend I asked to go with me, a fishing fanatic much like myself, decided to do the same thing to save the money for the trip. Well I had never thought about how much I spent just on coffee, muffins and pop, but I saved enough for the trip and I bought all new gear. And so did my buddy, we actually bought exactly the same equipment and clothes. We looked like twins heading for the plane. 7 days and nights on a lake in northern Quebec with no other people around for a two hour plane trip. Spectacular, although all the trees were pretty short. Looking forward to the next fly-in fishing trip...
