I have always wanted to go to New Orleans but now... / myLot

I was really blown away by all the destruction in New Orleans. We have it so good where I live. We get storms and sometimes they are bad and destructive but for the most part they are just storms and they move on with little to zero damage. I have admired the Cajun lifestyle and longed to visit and experience it, but now I am afraid to visit as it would just break my heart to see how much is still in ruins. Has anyone been to visit and is it still as sad as it was...

I like to watch fishing and cooking shows. New Orleans's Cajuns seem to stick right out as a culture that always stood out as a very unique group. They don't just survive they live life and enjoy it. Their music makes me want to jump up and down and run all around for some reason. I am from the East coast of Canada and we have plenty of Cajun anscestors down here and they just seem to have music right in there very souls. You can't go visit any of them without being ready to party.
