Keeping Elderly Parents at Home or Nursing Home??

I think one must look after ones parents till last.Think if your parents had left you in a nursing ome when you were a baby then what would have happened to you.Also did you parents look after you as an obligation.So I think that there should be a loveing relation between old parents and their children.Children should not see towards their parents a obligation.People should look after their parents with love and not with force.It s said that old age is seconf child hood.In such a situation our parents need our support the most.So one must live wit their old parents till last and keep tem happy, and it should be seen as duty as we expects some rights towards them.

I feel there is a huge difference between parents caring for children and adults caring for their parents. The parents chose to have the child, in most cases. They stepped into this change in their live fully aware of what the general decision meant. The Adult caring for parents was born unaware of what was coming! Other huge differences might include the relationship the parents had with the child. If the adult can look back and see a general trend of disrespect toward hime by the parents, then that adult would be crazy to care fo the parents in the adult's home. They would be inviting that same attitude into their daily lives, which is more than just a little too much to bear. In those cases it is safer for all parties concerned to place the parents in a home where people are trained to deal with them. You are very fortunate to have such good feelings about your parents. YOur home must have been wonderful to grow up in!

I agree with you Kathy it would not be fair to put them in a Home unless they are that bad that they are forced to be in one because they need professional Help I would look after my Mum before I would let her go in a Nursing Home
