It amazes me the way people forget tragic events so quickly. I remember going to the site of the OKC bombing, the gates were still up with pictures pinned on them, and there were flowers and stuffed animals. There were pictures of children that had been killed. Across the street the chairs were up with the wall of names. For me it was a profound thing to visit. Something that you see in history books, but never really feel. How is it that in the past 15 years we have seen all this destruction, right here on American soil, and still we have a nation divided, full of apathy and ignorance, partisan politics and greed.
