1982 yamaha 750

hi! i just bought a 1982 yamaha 750. i was told it was a maxam by the owner. i have owned a 1981 650 special,and a 1978 special 650.this bike resembles my 81 special,but all this one says is xs on the title,and has the letters yics on the engine and side plates.i am seeing some differences on this bike,and the guy had it on his insurance as a virago. i know its not that! it is a 4 cyl.and has sqare lights all around. this is different from my 81 650.xs. the reason im questioning what it isis that i cant find anything about a 82 maxam anywhere,including any manuals from the dealership!! the only maxams i find are 85 and up! is this a maxam,or a plain xs??any info will be appreciated,i like to know history and tidbits about my bikes,and im just running into alot of unanswered questions on this one!! thanks!! gary
