Drunk Driving!?!

I've been reading a lot lately on how the numbers of drunken drivers are going up higher and higher... I thought that the government and the police system was lesening this? Or putting a stop to it? Why is it when they seem to make a decision to change something it just gets worse? And why don't people seem to care about their well being, let alone others? Why would people have a drink or more and put their children in a vehicle and go? What is wrong with them? I had a friend a while back that lost her father and baby brother in an accident and the only survivors were her and her mother, she thinks it's the other drivers fault, even though it was the fault of her father, the one who was drinking... It's not fair to think like that, that other person's family has just as much to deal with as she does, as he was killed in the accident too... People should start thinking about their lives, as well as the lives of others, and realize that it's not as important to drink and drive than it is to make sure that you are safe and so are others.... What do all of you think? I think this is getting serrious, and i know there's no way to stop it, but maybe there's a way to lessen this crap...
