At this point in life,I'd rather make something than buy it; I'm tired of turning evrything over to see "made in China". I got a decade of experience with ceramic work by working with my mother. I learned how to pour slip into molds, time it before dumping it back out,and opening the mold later on to see this nifty piece of greenware in my hand! I then learned that I could make nearly anything that I wanted{that could be made of clay,of course}No joke; I made dishes, weird shaped bowls for fruit & stuff, practical stuff that I needed,as well as silly stuff that I never had the money to buy anyway. LOL I've learned even more from another site that basically just reading, but I want all the knowledge I can pile up in my head at this point. If you look at judysbookshop.com Go to the index and there's a lot of stuff on ceramics nad other crafts. I love saving money and without this info, I wouldn't have been able to give anywhere NEAR the Christmas gifts, that I did. A few years back, I hand made a bowl with a design on it that I just played with,ya know? An abstract painting of a maple tree. A lady from work saw it,and bought it! I didn't even intend to sell it. It just happened; my point is; if I can make it, I'm happy. Hope this helps other crafty folks out there in cyberspace. Happy New Year, Lela
