Adrenochrome (736) | 3 years ago |  I do think it's a great LP, but in the early 80s, a friend wired my video up to a tape recorder and we taped the complete soundtrack to the film version, and felt it was even better, with all the sound effects and voices. Obviously, you'll be aware the soundtrack is slightly different to the album (they were made 2 years apart), and I do think that the live versions of 'comfortably numb' allow more freedom, and time, for the guitar solo.
All said, 'The Wall' is a true classic, in the true meaning of the word (not the overused 'hype' of today, where ever album is a classic upon release!)

3.  Poofs_that_r_cheesy (200) | 3 years ago |  I think it is their best overall work. Some of the Music from eariler albums was/is excellant and trailblazing for what they did with their music telling a story and being more then just a song. But this is still their best overal body of work in my humble opinion.

| Adrenochrome (736) | 3 years ago | I find some of the earlier work to be a little bit lost in direction, I'm thinking particularly of Ummagumma, though I do enjoy the 'Grand Viziers Garden Party@, and am a little disturbed by 'Animals'. I do feel I should stand up for 'The Dividion Bell' which I feel is more in keeping with the likes of the 'Dark Side' & 'Wish you were here'.
Iy is really difficult to pick a single album out, as there is a tremendous amount of great music to pick from with the Floyd.
Your humility is much appreciated, because I am smug, and over-opinionated far too often.LOL | |

 andilla (111) | 3 years ago |  Yes, I think the music is great. About the film though, I have another opinion: I saw it only once, when I was 18 and didn't know too much about Pink Floyd. I have heard a few of their songs and I liked them a lot, but I was not a particular, very enthusiastic fan.
So I was 18, and we had a party when our class just finished high school. It was a great, long evening, and at 5am somebody got the idea of wathcing The Wall video. At 5 freaking morning! When my eyes were anyway half down and I just wanted to sleep. But I stayed, for the company with those buddies. Gosh, all that delirium and those terrible pictures in the movie! For a girl who hasn't ever been drunk or hasn't even tried to smoke one single cigarette... So you can imagine what impression I got from watching that movie...
I didn't see it since then, and I don't doubt that it's a great movie - but somehow it was not the right one for me at that moment:-)
