Menus for dinners

A couple years ago or so I set out a schedule for what dinners we'd have on certain days. It worked for a few months, but then we fell off of it and never went back. But I'd like to go back and start it up again. It was nice knowing what we were having for certain days and if we didn't have it (ended up eating out or whatever) we'd have it for the next day. We'd still know. Have you ever done a menu for dinners? Or do you have any easy dinner ideas?

We used to do that too. I liked it also. It was easier because then I didn't have to make all the decisions about dinner. And if for some reason we didn't want that the following day, we would just switch it around! :) But now that I am having to eat differently from everyone, I don't know if we can do that anymore. That...and I have been refusing to cook. LOL I got irritated with cooking dinner and then the kids didn't want it. I went through the trouble of cooking and the babies would just poke at it no matter what was said. So, I told my partner that I have given up until he can get them to eat because I don't want to waste food anymore. LOL So, the other night he made dinner. I still help. :) And sure enough, a younger child started complaining back she didn't want something that was made. Boy...he got upset. hahahahahaha And when he was done talking to that child, I had to giggle and tell him that is how I feel and why I don't want to do it anymore. LOL So, now that he is involved in helping cook, he is more involved in helping get them to eat. :) Easy dinner ideas? Grilled chicken salad with Yellow saffron rice. Make a large salad on each plate. Then top with a few table spoons of the rice and then the chicken cut up. My kids love it! And it is something we do not have to fight with them to get them to eat! :)

Of course you don't have to fight with use to eat it...it is delicious!! And even thought the babies don't eat it, it doesn't mean that others don't appreciate it! Maybe if the older children and you want to eat something...we could just have it and they could eat sandwiches!! LOL :D JK

I could not do a preplaned menu we kinda decide what we are going to have right before i make it it depends on what we are in the mood for or what my son had at lunch

I have not done this before nor has my family but this sounds like a neat and very good idea. I may have to try this as it may help me with learning how to cook and eat better as well and I might not change my food choice if I have a menu or schedule for each day.

We use to have a set out schedule for dinner. I really like knowing what we were having for dinner. And if we did not feel like having something...we would just switch the days around and have it another day. There are many quick dinner ideas, just go out and eat! Just Kidding! Well, there is always seven layer bean dip with chips, chili cheese fries, tuna and chicken rice salad, grilled cheese and tomatoe soup and many more. But, we do not have a set schedule for what we eat anymore! :( But, at least we eat something, right! :DD

I have never done a menu, but I was thinking about it for the New Year. I am always stressing about what's for dinner. I think having a menu will definately help me. I think by not having a menu I overspend because since I am not planning my meals I end up ordering take out. I am going to sit down to day and write it up. Hopefully, I would keep doing it.

I try to plan a menu every Saturday, then go grocery shopping for the week. My girls and I will sit down and figure out where we need to be in the evenings that week and then decide what meals we should cook. It helps a lot with getting them to eat dinner because they helped plan it. It also helps with rushed nights because I don't have to worry about what's for dinner! I already have it all planned out!
