Is the Rosetta Stone progam a good way to learn Spanish?

I would really like to learn more than the 30 or so words and 12 or so phrases I know in Spanish. I do not have the money or time to do an immersion program and I do not think reading a book like "Spanish for Idiots" is a resonable way to learn a new language. I think hearing someone speak is an essential part of the learning process. Has anyone used the rosetta Stone software or know of another good program for learning Spanish?
