| I'm sorry I didn't see this until now. I live in the Mobile, Alabama area, and my kids were with their father in the Gulfport,Mississippi area, Now, we down here on the Gulf Coast knew that something was coming, but like all storms, we tend to tough them out literally, and also a lot of folks aren't prepared to leave during one which is why a lot of folks in New Orleans suffered real bad behind this. I got to see Mississippi a few months afterwards because for a while, it was hard to get in there like you wanted, but devastation is still devastation any way you look at it, and the casinos, the area where my kids were with their father; there are homes there, but in the front of them there are trailers all around, I believe my ex in laws and another family are the only ones to have NOT taken the trailers. my in laws are in the process of remodeling their home. I do want to say this. I have nothing against New Orleans or the folks there. But this storm affected FOUR states. Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. I don't think it's fair to single out just New Orleans and Louisiana alone. I had family that were in a 3 bedroom house packed 22 people deep during the storm, and trying to make it work, and surprisingly, the waters didn't touch the house. miracle if u ask me. but yes, I seen for myself. but not New Orleans, just Mississippi. |
