Have you ever wondered how different your life would be today if you have made one choice over another? I was born in Asia to western parents but left to move to Australia when I was around five years old. Prior to the decision to move to Australia I was scheduled to attend a boarding school in England.... Where would I be today if that had actually happened? I am now divorced but was with my previous partner for around 13 years. Partners for 5 years, engaged for 2 years and then married for 6..... We actually broke up about a year prior to our engagement but got back together. Where would I be in my life now if we had of gone our seperate ways rather than return to each other and eventually get married then divorced? Life is full of choices with each choice branching off into even more choices. Are our lives pre-destined? I just think about things like this sometimes!

I personally don't believe in fate or predestination. The life we lead is merely influenced by coincidences and opportunities that we take or don't take. I rarely think about my life in terms of 'what if', or I'd end up in a lovely padded cell wearing one of those fashionable shirts whose sleeves attach at the back ;)

At least being in a padded cell will finally limit the choices you have to make! There is only so much you could do in there..... Coincidences could also be open to interpretation to some as well. I tend to lean towards one belief or another to be honest but in my heart would like to think that destiny and fate exists. Thanks for responding.

I always wonder about things like that. What if I'd gotten married when I was proposed to, what if I had gone into a different line of work, what if I had stayed in Boston or in Seattle... and then I stop because it doesn't do any good to wonder about those things because they didn't happen.

Yes! It maybe doesn't do any good to think about those things but when you are a sporadic sleeper like I am it's amazing some of the things that you start to think about late at night! Thanks for responding.
