Meatloaf, what happened to him?

For a long time I have enjoyed Meatloaf's music. My favorite song of his is "Anything for love" I haven't had a chance to see any celb. news in quiet some time, and the other moning I caught a skit on Good Morning America where he was preforming that song.
I was floored by his appearance first of all. And if I wasn't seeing him with my own eyes, I'd swear it was someone else doing the song. He butchered it so bad I felt sorry for him.
Am I remembering him in a way he wasn't, or has he let his appearance and talents go down the drain?

I've never much liked Meatloaf's music live. But I have heard his new CD, and it sounds just as good as his old stuff. As for his appearance...well, he's never looked like the healthiest of men. In his videos and things he's got all that makeup and everything, while on talk shows and things there's no air brushy and things like that. I think he's still as talented as he ever was.

Man, I have no idea what you saw, but I saw meatloaf(Marvin Aday: a couple of months ago, I thought he looked fantastic. Okay so He is getting old, but dang he is 60 years old. He is balding but again so are many men his age. He's weight is under control. He looks fantastic. Mqaybe it was because it was a skit that it seemed butchered, but I assure you, he is still very talented. He is active in theater, and touring.

i think that sometimes he comes across as having lost some of his talent because he puts so much into every performance that he blows out his voice. he's the kind of performer who should have a weeks break after 2 weeks of touring to give his voice a chance to rest.
