Steven Soderbergh released Bubble on DVD and cinema at the same time. Controversial director Ken Russell plans to distribute his latest work via his website and auction site eBay. Technology is affecting not just how movies are made but also how they are sold and viewed. Will we eventually turn our backs on traditional cinemas?

There are other developmenst also. For instance I bet before since DVDs there have been almost as many film crews filming the filming (if you get what I mean) for extras on DVD. We require more than just being entertained with a good movie or TV show - now we need alternative commentary and making of Documenteries, cast interviews and all the out-takes as well.
