Do you ever get homesick? I live in Va. and been apart from my family since 1999. Now I find myself traveling to them at least every other month. I'm living here in Va because of my job. Do you ever get homesick? If so what are some of the things you do to take your mind off it.

I'm always homesick. I had to move to a different country for college. I can only visit during the summer, but when I go I stay for the entire summer. For about 3 months. It's hard living apart from your family but sometimes you have no choice. I call my family whenever I can, it makes me feel better hearing their voice and knowing how they're doing.

I live in the same area of the same town that I was born and rasided in so I have no reason to get homesick. My family is around me as are most of my firends. I think that if I were to move away I would definately get homesick. I guess I would talk to them on the phone and email them a lot in order to feel like they were with me. I would totally visit as often as I could and I would invite them to visit as well. I would try hard to make new friends and become active in my new community to help take my mind off what I was missing.
