Wigs On Ebay - Tacky Or Great Money Saver?

So I'm preparing two cosplays that require wigs. And wigs through most American stores are expensive - especially since I need a very long wig. But I've found some great deals on Ebay, mostly ones from Japan and Hong Kong. The shipping and handling is a little pricey, but the base prices are much cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. Anyone bought wigs through Ebay before? Were you satisfied?
