We need to keep in mind that in our society as loaded with material possessions as ours, gaining a perspective on the value of things is difficult. The children attuttide is "easy come, easy go" this is a reality. modeling for a child a proper use and care of things is essential. I myself keep on reminding them to value the things that we buy and to take care of it, because you cannot get money on the street and I tell this always that your father worked hard to earn money and to buy the things that we need so we must not waste or abuse the things we have.A pattern of ruining or destroying possessions before their life span is over reflects a poor sense of values. a child should not be allowed to feel guilty or frustrate if the toys breaks just because of a poor quality than from abusive treatment. so as a parent we should exercise good stewardship in judging the quality of the toys and things we buy. i also remind them that respect the other possessions of others, you should ask for permissions to borrow and about repairing or replacing borrowed items that are used up or damaged.
