| | It was actually our last Velantines day together,we went to a romantic dinner in a nice quiet restaurant. We went to see Ground hog day. Then we went home and made Valen tines Day even more special. He passed away in September of thet year.So that Valentines DAy was memorable and bittersweet for me. | | | | | | |

| | See, I find the simple things most memorable! My husband and I love midnight picnics and things that are so simple. People seem to want all the glitz and glamour....not us! | | | |

| | I've never had a good Valentine's Day, I hope it's not too late. Hopefully this year will be different but I'm still single. Maybe I'll buy a heart shaped cake with white icing, I'm sure that will make V Day fun for me and the kids. | | | | | | |

| | My most memorable Valentine's Day was in 1998. I was the manager in a group home with developmentally delayed women. There were 3 ladies living together. They wanted to have a valentines dinner and eat red food and have a party. Ok, well it took many, many talks around the table to get the plans together. I tried to make them do as much of the thinking as they could. I couldn't think of something red exept pasta with sauce. One of the ladies, Hope said "no, Lobster dummy" Well that worked for them. So then Susan said "Juice" so that was her project making juice. Claire wanted cake so she was delegated making the cake. We made the guest list and made invitations. I assigned a staff to each of the ladies to help them with their chosen food/drink to make. We all went shopping and the ladies picked out plates, decorations, flowers, candy etc. Hope decided we needed red candles that she had seen on Martha Stewart. So we got red votives and glass holders. I hadn't seen the show so I had no idea what she was up to. We went home and after we put all the stuff away, Hope was going to show us what to do with the candles. She told us to all sit at the tablele and she would show us what to do. She got some cans out of the recycle bin of different sizes. She got out the aluminum foil. She then wrapped each can in foil, tipped them upside down and put the candles on them. I was very impressed that she had learned that from watching on tv. They certainly weren't perfect but for her they were awesome. On Valentines Day we had our Lobster, red potatoes, beets and red punch juice. After dinner our guests started to arrive. Every single staff person that came from our house and others told me they loved what I did with the candles...I had to keep referring them to Hope, lol. Everyone had a wonderful time. We ate Strawberry Cake and Cherry Ice Cream. Razberry Gingerale, candy and cookies. It was one of the best Valentines Days I've ever had. | | | | | | |

| | My most memorable Valentine's Day was the first one after my husband and I were engaged. I was in Bermuda to help him pack up and move to US with me. The ladies at the church wanted to give me a surprise wedding shower. They asked Victor to take me somewhere to keep me busy while they got the party ready. When I met him at the house he had a dozen miniature red roses for me and a plan to take me on a ferry boat ride. It was wonderful, and so romantic riding in the boat with the city lights reflecting in the water. I didn't find out til later that it wasn't his idea! | | | | | | |

| | My boyfriend came to my house at 5 in the morning and brought flowers, decorated the house with the help of my mom, cooked the food himself, and woke me up with the song I like most. Then he told me how much he loves me and hugged me and then..he cried.. | | | | | | |

| | My most memorable Valentine's Day was in 1985, that's the day my first child was born! I was single and had a lonely pregnancy, sort of by choice, I was afraid to tell anyone because I was 19 and unmarried, I didn't know what my family would say, obviously they eventually found out, but it was easier not to have to listen to lectures for 9 months. My daughter will be 22 this year, she just graduated from college, I couldn't be more proud of her! She has made every Valentine's day special, even though it's her birthday she has always made sure to give me something on that day. A couple of years it was a coupon book that she made, I usually didn't use them because I wanted to keep them. She didn't mind, because then she didn't have to do what they said =) | | | | | | |
