in "Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire," Harry participates in tru-wizard Tournament. What do you think tri-wizard means?

It means three wizards. XD In fact in the tournament three wizards from three different schools are going to compete against each other.

You hit the nail on the head. Three-tri, same thing. That was the point of the story, three had already been chosen, but then Harry was chosen, making everyone nervous, also he was not yet 17.
