what is the star with the number in it above the username ?

The star denotes is to show how sensible and useful your posting are to the myLot community. I think it is a system put inplace to encourage substantive posting and discourage those members who joined the comunity only to make money. Probably you have observed that some members has well over a thousand postings and yet, their start rating stands at 3 while some with les than 300 has a star rating of 7, 8, 9 and 10. So, post good response and discussions and you will also have high star rattings.

It is a mylot ratings given to the users. Even you will get one if you cross 100 points !!!All the best.

The star is the rating system given by mylot to you. It shows how much your quality as mylot user. The star rating will be change depend on your responds against any discussion. If you have a good quality respond which was usually have 4 or more lines you will get a good ratings or if you have a bad respond, you'll get a bad rating which will make your ratings go down. This star ratings will be appear as if you have 100 post. so keep posting until you have 100 post.

Great question from you, I guess that star with number is describe how the admin apreciate our post, it is not about quantitiy we post or somethin, even when you post with as quality as you can, and you got a lot of best response, if the admin didn't want to give you the good rating increase than as it, I think rule no 1, admin is always right. sorry just my 2 cents
