Have your ever had to tell a partner that you contracted an STD from them...

and they weren't honest about it? I've had this happen twice--my first relationship (nearly 20 years ago) gave me crabs (I could've killed him for that!) and recently I was diagnosed with HPV (which may or may not have come from my current partner). The first guy said "oh, you probably got them from the toilet seat", the second guy (who's significantly older than myself) seems to be taking offense that I even told him! I'm the one facing the possibility of cervical cancer! It seems that when people are caught in situations like this, they get on the defensive and walk away (instead of being tested or taking every precaution to ensure it doesn't happen again). I'm p*ssed, to say the least! Anyone else have a similar situation and how did the relationship survive (if it did)?

Sorry to hear about that. I have never been in that situation. I require STD testing before I sleep with anyone-- I have not slept with many people but I am a safety girl. I don't care if the man gets mad, testing first -- actually that is what impressed my man. . .I didn't try anything and required testing. Best of luck.

I think most men and women have to do that now. I grew up while they were still learning about AIDS and you saw the horrible process of dying. It gives you something to think about (ok, have nightmares about). Thanks!

Thankfully I've never been in this situation although I've only ever had two partners. If I were in this situation I would be very upset. I think it is their duty to inform their partners if they have some type of STD. I don't understand why they would want to put their partner, someone they supposedly care about, at risk of contracting it as well. Good luck to you! I hope everything turns out fine.

Crabs are lice. It is very much posible to get it from a toilet seat. Thats why you should always use the seat covers.

I KNOW that and never use a toilet seat in a public place (and even in a private home I'll put toilet paper down). As for the HPV, it comes and goes...no telling how my body contracted it. I could have had the virus dormant in my body all these years before it became active. At least my last pap smear it was clean (my gyno can't figure out how I can go from a moderate-high risk to none each time).

Oh no, he's still a pathetic jerk that needs to be castrated. Where does he live?
