can data cables boost up your internet speed?  

i read some discussion forums and found that people r getting net speeds of 15-20 KBps on non-edge cells like lg b2050 using some ftdi data cables. is that possible to attain that much speed on a mobile(like lg b2050) which is gprs class 10? if yes where to grab those ftdi cables for lg b2050?
