I met lots of people in my lifetime that basically consult their horoscope, card reading, palm reading and the likes, before making a decision about something, especially personal life. Majority of these acquaintances uses these to have a glimpse of their lovelife and career. I've witnessed that some do come true, but probably other predictions is still about to come true. Eerie as it sounds, but one important aspect in my life that a fortune teller told me was how I will meet my husband, what will he look like, etc, which during that time I was laughing my head off because it seemed like it was so far off. She told me to write it down on a stone so I will remember which I jokingly replied that I definitely will. When it did come true, I don't scoffed with the things pertaining to these fortune telling anymore. All I would say is "que sera, sera."

I know of an old man who is a fortune teller and he seemed to be very popular in the circle of celebrities. He asked me to watched him do his job one day and I just sat down there watching him use deck of cards, tarrot cards, sticks and others stuff as he talked to people. Most if not all the people who consulted him went home encouraged and was given a sense of hope. He didn't actually predicted the future for them and told exactly what's going to happen in exact details. However he opened to them the possibilities and the proper attitude to face them. I personally don't go with the idea, you can also do the same without doing cards. But having said that I don't have anything against the belief, maybe I belong to the unlightened ones.

Yes, I think people feel much better if they have a little hope on their situation as what the cards are giving them a glimpse of. Hope doesn't harm anything but as long as you are also open to other possibilities that there might be some prediction that might not come true at all.

Those of us who do the "dortune telling" take years to develope the skill. I know that I have been doing tarot readings and numerology for a long time. It is something that I belive is natural in all of us, but most people don't take time to really work on it. I don't think it is good to have a reading everytime you have to make a decision, but for those issues where you are stuck on what to do, it is very helpful to have someone look at the possibilities that are invisible to you.

You have a point on that. But there are some people that everytime they are confuse about something, it gives them comfort to have somebody tell them the possibilities.
