Based on the number of singles churned out and the record that she set as the female musician with highest number of singles sold,i think the award for now should be given to madonna.She has several hits singles to her credit and so many awards too.
Most popular doesn't necessarily mean the best. She has defenitely said her word in pop music, and I admire her show and performance abilities, but I would not name her the best - it all depends on personal choices.
