Have you ever used the Reed Diffusers for adding scent to a room? |
| |
| I love to add scents to my home but not to over do it. I burn candles often to obtain this but I would love something that would greet me when I walk in the door (besides my dog LOL) in the form of a soothing and welcoming scent. I've seen those diffuser reeds that you place in a glass with fragrance oils in them. Has anyone ever used these? Do they work well? Do they lose their scent quickly or do they last a while? And is it strong enough to welcome you at the door with the scent or more subtle and not strong at all? | | | | | |

| | I am curious myself. I saw a beautiful diffuser at Cost Plus, but it was $30. My husband would not appreciate me spending that much, so I passed. I think they are interesting. I am wondering too if they lose their scent. | | | | | | |

| | I belong to a site called JudysBook where people do reviews o items and a gal on there that commented that Pier One is carrying them for about $12! She said they worked great but I just have so many doubts. Doesn't seem like something that would truly give out big scents and I LOVE for my home to smell of certain fragrances. It seems so inviting, as long as it's not overwhelming. At $12 though, if they worked pretty well, I could afford to purchase a couple and put them throughout my house for a single scent throughout! I'm hoping someone verifies that these work well! | | | |

| | I love the reed diffusers by Yankee Candle. They sell them at the Yankee stores, at Linens& Things, and Yankee.com. They have a variety of scents- I like a more spicy scent like cinnamon, but they have all kinds including fruity, woodsy, and flowery. They are strong enough to fill the room and greet you as you open the door, but are definitely not overpowering. I like them better than those plug-in to the outlet fragrancers; they scare me because of the potential for fires. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks! I've been using the plug in ones. I purchased both the Yankee Candle version and the version from Bath & Body. They're great for a small area but they don't keep the scent alive well. I also think they have a potential for fire too and am iffy about using them. How much were the Yankee Candle ones and the oil that you can get to fill them? | | | |

| | I haven't used the ones you are discussing, but I use plug in ones all over the house. I have to unplug the one in the bedroom at night, as the scent can be a bit overpowering and I find it difficult to sleep. | | | | | | |

| | I love using the reed diffusers. One of the stores near me was having an after Christmas sale and I was able to get 4 of then for $5. I figured it they did not work I was not out all that much so I bought them. I found that only one scent, Spice Cranberry. was over powering but when I removed a few of the rods that it became a nice scent | | | | | | |

| | Darn, I was just selling some during the holidays but I do have some in other forms(not reeds). There are room diffusers that plug in and use some refillable, pad-like inserts and there are some for vehicles too. If you'd like more info I can give you my website link. | | | | | | |

| | I have those types of diffusers. I've tried various styles and while they work they're not always enough to keep the scent alive for long periods. That's why I was curious about the reeds. | | | |
