Use a wet vacuum to clean up the excess paint. Get a spritzer to spray cold water into the carpet. Spray. Vacuum. Spray. Vacuum. Repeat until paint is gone. Dampen a cotton cloth and leave on the spot where paint was spilled. Any residual spot will transfer into the cloth. Do not apply too much water ...it will cause the paint to sink into the carpet pad and will lengthen the drying time for the carpet.
