Steve Irwin was Australia's top animal expert, he and his wife Terri and their two children, lived right on the zoo property. He was the worlds top animal expert. He died while filming a show about sting rays when one of the sting rays shot him with its stinger right in Steve's heart. His daughter Bindi age 6 is taking over many of all ready booked shows and will have her own show on TV in the US soon.

this is exactly right. He was great!! My kids loved to watch him and always laughed and joked when he would say Crikey. Hope that is spelled right. He was a great animal person and he will be missed by animals and people alike.

Steve Irwin, the man known around the world as the "Crocodile Hunter," has died in a stingray attack off the Great Barrier Reef.

Irwin, 44, had been filming a documentary off Port Douglas in northern Queensland when he was killed by a stingray barb through the heart. He was rushed to hospital by helicopter, but he died en route.

"The world has lost a great wildlife icon, a passionate conservationist and one of the proudest dads on the planet," Stainton told the Australian Broadcasting Corp.

"He left this world in a peaceful and happy state of mind. He would have said, 'Crocs rule.'"

The tribute show from the Zoo in Australia was touching. I was crying at the end when they drove his truck out of the Crocoseum one last time. Animal Planet deserves to be beaten with a large object for butchering the show the next go around to add 20 minutes of commercials. Shame on you Animal Planet!
