Yes a ostrich is a bird. Penguins are also birds who cannot fly. And emus which are like ostrichs. Can flamingos fly?

Actually turkeys can fly--not high up into trees or anything, and they can't migrate, but they can fly short distances. I saw a story on the news the other day where they "released" wild turkeys from cages and they flew away.
Of course, if they were better at flying, maybe they wouldn't get caught and eaten so much. ;-)

i dont know. maybe its on the structure of their wings that prevents them from flying.

LOL....Penguins cant fly either..Nor ostritches, emus, and god only knows how many other birds. However they do have wings so I guess thats what classifies them, but No it doesnt make any sense..They should call them some thing else.
