Who makes a better car, Ford, GMC, daimler chrysler or Toyota, Honda, Nissan?  |

|  I've always wondered why so many new car buyers still stick with American car manufactures when clearly and statistically they break down more often, less comfortable to drive and ride in, and have lesser resale value? I do understand that people have loyalty and some trucks and large SUV s can be better built or equal to the Japanese/foreign cars but overwhelming evidence still show that they are inferior in performance and reliability. However, American trucks are still out selling their foreign rivals.
Ultimately I would like to know what car you have/planning on buying and why?

| |  I think that many people choose cars based on price. Non-US cars are much more expensive overall. I personally drive a Subaru and love the brand. I also have a Chevy and have had no problems with that vehicle either.

| | actually the Scions and honda fit, toyota yaris are pretty cheap... around 15k or less and they are well built as well. Not really sacrificing quality, maybe a little safety because they're smaller and lighter. I've heard that chevy cars are a lot better than dodge or ford cars. | | | |

| |  I have owned just about every make of vehicle available in America. My response to you is: There are no truly American cars any more. The closest thing to an American car is the Saturn. I will still buy Ford's. I like them. If you take care of them they usually will not strand you on the side of the road. Of course there are always exceptions.
