People are funny when we look at their behaviour. What do you say?

I've been making observations throughout my life about people's behaviour in their everyday lives. Some people look the world in an amusing way. The laugh all day and make jokes. They make people laugh. But deep inside of me I wonder are they really happy? After doing some investigations on my own, I found that most people who are funny are actually the saddest and the most unhappiest people on earth. They do all the jokes just to console their hearts and forget about the sadness that seem to hang to their necks. What is your opinion on this? Are you a funny or a serious person?
