A lot of attention is (rightly) being paid to the MIT MediaLab project to create a cheap, handcrank-powered laptop computer for schoolchildren in Third World countires. Will there be a version available for sale to the public?

yes definitely these computers are available for sale to the public and if they did not sale into the public than how can they recover their amount invested for this project.

I think. since most third world countries are places that get an over abundance ofsun, a solar powered laptop would be a better idea. They would perhaps be doing theworld a favpur if they could create a small cheap solar power cell for laptops and other electricity using divices
