My father killed himself when I was 2yrs old. I felt a void in my life. I dont remember my dad but I guess you could say I miss what I never had. My grandparents mostly raised me. To this day I wonder what it would be like to have a father.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I know it is hard for YOU. But I wish you all the best in life! You deserve a good and happy one. Yes, they of course has an effect to children. Pray to God to heal you and make your life more meaningful and prove to yourself and your family that you could even be better after the incident.

Your aunt shouldn't of said anything like that to you. It's not her place to judge anyone. And i feel that your mom should of put her in her place. I'm sorry about your lose. Both of my parents are alive... but when i was growing up i lived with my grandparents. My dad had custody of me and my brothers and sisters, but he was in the navy so he was always gone. And my mom, well i didn't ever know where she was, and i didn't even know if she was alive. I hadn't seen her since i was 5 years old, and then she started coming around when i was about 15. 10 years without seeing my mom. Or even hearing from her. It felt like i had lost her forever. And it was hard on me. I can't emagine how you feel about your father. But loosing any type of family is very hard on everyone.
