I think India is my motherland and as much respect I get here I wont get anywhere in this world, everywhere I will be a migrant or a secondary citizen. India has given me the right to live freely with freedom. I have no Government officials looking ovcer me all the time to see if I am spanking my kids or ruining property values by not mowing my lawn. I love the smell of this country, it may be bad for so many but i love the smell of tea rising from the roadside teastall and jalebies and kachories and golgappas and chat to ever leave them and settle in abroad forever, I might go for few years visiting or working but will always come back. My hubby is a soldier fighting for India so I feel we are doing our bit for the country.

If government was looking over our shoulders to see if we mowed your lawn or not may be we will learn not to make the streets dirty and keep our banana peels in the garbage bin.

you are so rite, thats exactly what all i miss about india. the people, the feeling of belonging. i am happy here in the US but that sense of being an alien always remains.the food is a different aspect altogether. the chaat, golgappas, the sweets,i miss all that so much.

You should not be asking what India has given you. If you are an Indian you should ask yourself WHAT HAVE I DONE FOR MY COUNTRY? The country which has given your ancestors a place to call his land, A place where you were born a place which feeds you and gives you security of your life. your very life has been a gift of India to you but what have you done to her in return?

tis country has given me basic needs(water,food,shelter,clothes)...so i luv my country..but i don't know wat i can do for my country..
