Who is Sarah McLachlan

Sarah Ann McLachlan is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter. Known for the emotional sound of her ballads, some of her popular songs include "Angel", "Building a Mystery", "Adia", "Possession", "I Will Remember You" and "Into the Fire". Her best selling album to date is Surfacing, for which she won 4 Juno Awards.

A beautiful voice, amazing lyrics, elegance, compassion and drive have all been associated with Sarah McLachlan in her musical career that began back in the late 1980s. There just seems to be something about her and her music that draws her fan-base close to her.

Born in Nova Scotia in January of 1968, she started singing and playing instruments young. Throughout her school life, she continued to take lessons in voice and learn the piano and guitar.

Since 1988, Sarah has sold over 22 million records worldwide, she has won 3 Grammy's, 6 Juno's and awarded the Elizabeth Cady Staton Visionary Award in 1998. But beyond the awards, she has touched millions of people world-wide with her music.
