If you have mice in your house does that mean you dont keep it clean?? |
|
I dont think so. Some areas have mice problems and some areas dont. I lived in a building that was soooo clean everything brand new, floors, paint and by me being a clean freek it was an ideal spot. But as we got settled into the place we noticed a we had a mouse. I thought mice only came to houses that werent kept clean. But i guess thats not the case. Anyone else with a mouse in the house??

1. Zebrochka (216) | 3 years ago | I guess that just means that some mouse lived close to your house and eventually got it. My dad once even got a mouse in his SUV! Couldn´t get rid of it for months - it was hiding somewhere... and eventually he sold the car (for another reason) with that mouse in it hehehe

2. luv_my_life (744) | 3 years ago | Yeah, I also have a mouse in my house, but I keep my house neat and clean. It's the fact that I live in an apartment, and mice are in the building because other tenants aren't keeping their places clean, so now a mouse has made its way down into my home, so now I also do know that mouses just come, irregardless if a person's home is clean or not. I'll catch that mouse eventually though.

ms_anisah (724) | 3 years ago | I have had the same thing happen to me. I am a very tidy person and I had a mouse chew through the walls of my apartment. I am guessing that I had a dirty neighbor somewhere in the building. It really grossed me out. You shoulda saw how fast I was at ACE Hardware getting my combat gear ready.LOl

4. abhiquest (572) | 3 years ago | Well one can have mouse as a pet! I had one earlier, but its true that they create a lot of litterings and spoil the show of the house.
But going by the spirit of the question, I don't think having a mouse in house should reflect anything negative about the reputation of the house.
And when they are in the open mouse are themselves capable to cause much of damage with their teeth!!

7. mari61960 (3164) | 3 years ago | Mice can be a real problem. Mice can survive in very small areas with limited amounts of food and shelter. Consequently, no matter how good the sanitation, most buildings in which food is stored, handled or used will support house mice if not mouse-proofed. Although good sanitation will seldom eliminate mice, poor sanitation is sure to attract them and will permit them to thrive in greater numbers. Good sanitation will also reduce food and shelter for existing mice and in turn make baits and traps more effective. Pay particular attention to eliminating places where mice can find shelter. If they have few places to rest, hide or build nests and rear young, they cannot survive in large numbers.
To keep the mice out once you get rid of them. Seal any openings larger than 1/4 inch to exclude mice. Steel wool mixed with caulking compound makes a good plug. Patching material needs to be smooth on the surface to prevent mice from pulling out or chewing through the patching compound. Seal cracks and openings in building foundations and openings for water pipes, vents and utilities with metal or concrete. Doors, windows and screens should fit tightly. It may be necessary to cover the edges with metal to prevent gnawing. Plastic sheeting or screen, wood, rubber or other gnawable materials are unsuitable for plugging holes used by mice
Hope all this helps. I had a really bad problem in a place I lived. There were mice in the basement, which was used by the landlord only. They would sometimes climb up the pipes and get in my kithcen under the sink.

8. Angrykitty (1015) | 3 years ago | When I was growing up, my mom kept the our house very clean and we never had any trouble with mice or any other vermin. That is, until developers came into the neighborhood and tore down a nearby wooded area to build condominiums. Suddenly, all the houses on my block had problems not only with mice, but cockroaches and even RATS! I guess these creatures all lived in the woods, and once their habitat was destroyed, they invaded our homes because they had nowhere else to go. Now I live in a little house in the country, and we do get mice, but we have cats that usually catch them. Since living in the country, I once discovered I had mice living under the hood of my car in the engine compartment! I opened the hood to check the oil one day, and saw all of this fluffy material that didn't belong there. When I moved some of it, I heard squeaking! Apparently, the mice got into my car and took little pieces of blankets, the floor rugs, and anything else they could find, shredded it and used it to make a nest under the hood of my car - probably because it was warm there. We cleaned all the fluff out of the engine compartment and used a hose to flush the area clean. I did not have that problem again afterwards. It is unusual, but not unheard of. I won't use traps to kill the mice I know live in my attic. They are not bothering me, and when they get into the main part of the house the cats usually catch them. If I happen to find one alive in the house myself, I catch it and then put it outside. I try to find a part of my yard to place the mouse in where I think he might be happy, and then I put a little food (like birdseed) near where I set the mouse free, so he has something to help him get started in his new life outside of my house. If you look at a little mouse, they are actually very cute, and I can't kill them. They are God's creatures as much as we are, after all.

Angrykitty (1015) | 3 years ago | The roaches were the worst. Thank goodness I don't live there anymore! My mom did keep a really clean house, but the infestations were a result of the destruction of the nearby woodland, I am sure. The mice weren't so bad, but I discovered there were rats in the neighborhood, because my cat was killing them and leaving them as "gifts" for us outside the door to the house. (Good Cat) I don't blame people for being creeped out when they have uninvited critters in the house, especially when one has little children. You do whatever you feel you need to do to feel comfortable in your home, even if it means you have to set a few traps. I would just caution against using poison on the mice, because it could easily end up hurting your pets or kids. I see where a writer here argues the pros & cons of kill vs no-kill traps. I think it comes down to the person doing what they feel is best for themselves and their family. I set them free outside (if the cats don't kill them first) because we live in the country and there are many areas outdoors here where a mouse can make a good life for himself. We are real animal lovers here, my husband finds baby mice and gives them to me to hand feed with an eyedropper full of infant formula! We take care of injured birds we find too. If it is too cold to set the mouse free outside, we will give him a little cage to live in, and a supply of food and water. We are really a couple of pushovers when it comes to little fuzzy creatures! Obviously our path is not for everyone. Most people think we're crazy, but I say to each his own. Do whatever it is you need to do to feel comfortable and safe in your own home. I promise not to judge. :)

9. tahiyya123456 (482) | 3 years ago | Asalaam Alaikum, Naam there is the unwanted guess in my house a mouse along with their family. I wanted a cat badly but im allergic to them at least thats what the allergist years ago told me along with my children having asthma. I hear cats will definitely get rid of that problem. The thing is i live in the city in a row house and this is a common problem. Mice breed fastly and i was wondering why i saw so many cats in the neighborhood. This is why and yes i clean but they sometimes set up camp in here.lol.

Muslimah (515) | 3 years ago | Wa alaikum salaam Yeh its a common problem in the city to have mice. And a cat will get that job done A.S.A.P but mashaallah you cant get one. Try glue traps they work good... i cant take them because the mice are still alive on them and you have to touch the trap to get it out of the house illllll.

| UmmKhayree (7) | 3 years ago | As Salaamu Alaikum,I have had field mice and they are very tiny and have like a brown color to them. They actually come form outside. We realized that there was a hole coming from a closet that was outside on the back porch. They are really a nusiance. I don't think they are from being unclean all the time. If you give them nothing to come and eat they should have no reason to be there. I find what works is putting poision in the basement that is where they start from. I haven't seen any in my house yet but the winter time is when they like to come out.
