CVS or Walgreens

I used to go to Walgreens all the time. WE also got all our prescriptions from Walgreens. A few years ago when they were not honoring women's prescriptions for Plan B or birth control I wrote letters to the corporate office and pulled all of our prescriptions, which were around $4000/year for a place that honored a woman's rights over the whim of a pharmacist. I have not shopped at Walgreens since.

I really don't have a preference. I've only been to them both a few times. Each time I had a positive experience. Around Easter I was looking for Cadbury eggs but couldn't find them at the grocery store. I was very happy when Wallgreens had them in stock.

I'm not sure how much my opinion will weigh in... There are CVS's all around me and few Walgreens. So for me the choice is easy- Its CVS.. Walgreens is a bit of a drive.
I like CVS because of the Extra Buck coupons program. Who doesn't like to save money... When you sign up and get the Extra Care card you save tons of money each time you shop at CVS. Check out their ads-- they will list the ECB's for the week.. Say they have razors on sale for $5 and then purchase 1 and get $2ECB.. this means on your next purchase (2 days after the razor purchase) a coupon will print on the bootom of your receipt with the $2 off next purchase. They also give a% back each qtr.

I love CVS!

I went to CVS for the first time last month. I went because they always have such wonderful sales online and I was not disappointed by the store at all. Unlike most drug stores their aisle were very roomy and their floors were carpeted, which was a nice touch that I really enjoyed.
I have been to Walgreens also, but I wasn't very impressed by the sells. I noticed that CVS has taken over all the Sav-ons in my area. Not if only they could take over the Rite Aid too. I worked at Rite Aid when it was still Thrifty's and they have gotten a lot more expensive now and their selection is horrible.
So the way I see it CVS doesn't have much competition, at least not in Santa Monica Ca. The only thing that I did not like about CVS was that I was not able to stick to my budget. There were so many things on sale that I had not planned to buy.
