Celebrities adopting...

Do the celebrities adopt children just to be more in the limelight? To be called saviours? Sometimes I think so. Why can't they adopt children here in the USA? Children in their own country need parents, some have never lived outside orphanages. So why the foreign? Any ideas?

Many adoptions in USA and up in court. When biological parents find out that adoptive parents are wealthy, they suddenly ask for child back. In many cases court decided to return baby to biological parents. When adopt from different country, there is no way to be sued.

This bothers me too. There are many children living in orphanages and foster homes right here in the United States. Yet, celebrities go out of the country to adopt. I really believe that you are right in theorizing that some of their reasoning has to be for the publicity. I think that it helps with foreign publicity more than US publicity. Not necessarily in the third world countries but in others. It really irks me actually. Perhaps if at the same time they donated time or money to help in our country with some problem it wouldn't be as bad.
