Horror Movies Yay! but where is the horror?

OK Ok you see this new horror thriller that being shown on tv and suppose to be the scariest movie of all time. you gather up some change to see or rent it, watch the movie and be very dissapointed. This is happening alot lately, am i the only one? It seems to me that the genre of horror movies of today are losing its luster. horror movies are now so predictable until its not funny. the ususal situation is this.."guy or girl has best friend and friends, friends start dying, best friend ends up being the killer or the weird cop guy that appears at the first beggining is the killer". and its seems like the same things over and over movie after the movie. i call it the scream factor, i call it that cause it makes you wanna scream out of anger that you just wasted some money to see a movie that has the same plot as the other movie you already have. or the worst one is the horror movies that dont give u enough infomation to explain what the situation is or what going on. Thats why i picked alot of 80s horror movies over the new ones that are made now. back then they had a plot...sometimes a weird one but at least you knew what was going on. the friday the 13th series, and nightmare on elms street series made it big because it was something diffrent. I know if youre best friend was a killer could be scary and all, but id rather deal with that than having freddy or jason, or the guy from the movie hell raiser after me anyday. one guy gets you in your dreams, one guys wont stop until he gets you and when he does it aint pretty, and the other guy is from hell. now thats scary. Movies with preppy clueless kids that dont see whats going on aint scary to me. is it just me? or am i just a diehard horror fan?
