What's the best way to fix your credit?

I have bad credit and I am worried I'll never be able to get it fixed. I have 5 credit cards, none of which I can get paid off, I have student loans, an auto loan, and rent/insurance/utilities to pay, I live check to check and am usually in the red. What is the best way to get back on track?
