I was on Wellbrutrin for about 2 and a half years and it quit working so my doctor put me back on Lexapro 2 weeks ago and took me off of Wellbrutrin. She didn't just suddenly take me off of it but cut my dose down from 150 mg. twice a day to 150 mg. once a day. That was for only 2 weeks and then Thursday I went back to see her and she took me off the Wellbrutrin completely and upped my Lexapro from 10 mg. to 20 mg. a day. I don't know if this is why I'm feeling this way but I think it is. I feel more depressed and I can't concentrate on anything. I usually post at least 20 posts a day on here and for the last 2 days I have only been able to make 2 posts total. I'm surprised I am able to make this discussion but it has taken me quite a while to even get the words out. I can't think straight at all and feel more worthless than ever. As bad as I felt on the Wellbrutrin after awhile I feel worse without it. Has anyone else had this problem with the Wellbrutrin? If I still feel like this on Monday I am calling my doctor and telling her. This isn't right. I just wish she would put me on something that is going to help me because I am sick of feeling this way. Anyone with any similar problems with any meds please respond.

Well after being on it for so long - you should have been ok coming off of it that way but sometimes it doesn't always work out best. As for the Lexapro - I know when I started it - it was quite a while before I started feeling better on it. And so far it's working with all the others that I take. You should always give a new med at least a couple of weeks to start working - unless you physically can't last on it due to side effects for that long and if after that time it still isn't doing the trick then you may need to switch to another med!!! With meds - they always work different for each person - depending on their body's chemistry. So it can take several before you find another one that works well for you. Hope you get to feeling better soon!!!

I'm starting to feel better now thanks. I am not having such a hard time concentrating and I don't feel as bad as I did. I have been back on the Lexapro for about 3 weeks now so I think it is starting to kick in. I just wish the Wellbrutrin would have worked still because I was doing real good on it. Thanks for responding. :)

You are so welcome and boy do I ever know that feeling after having been on tons of meds - having to switch when they either have really bad side effects or just simply don't work. It's always a pain in the A.. but finally when you find the right one and it's working great for such a long time and then stops working.

Yeah and the thing is that it is my insurance company's fault. When my family doctor first put me on it I was getting the brand name and then my insurance quit paying for it and I started getting the generic. I didn't realize this until I went back to my psychiatrist and she explained to me what she thought was going on. I was finally feeling better on it and all because the insurance didn't cover it anymore I had to go through this. I wish I could afford it on my own because I would stay on that for life just to be able to feel normal like that again. :)

I think you should pray on it, and tell God to give you strength. I hope you have faith in god. He will supply all your needs. I'm telling you if you believe in God, He will answer your prayers. I use to get stress out at times, but I pray and just tell God please handle it for me.

I do have faith in God and I do pray but it doesn't help how I'm feeling. I ask God all the time to help make things better in my life and my family's life. Thank you for your response anyway. :)

Well for depression, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle depression.
