How so? Are you just "all thumbs"? I'm all thumbs with certain things. But the other day I fixed an electrical socket and I was so proud of myself! ;)

That's really cool (and who knew knitting could be "cool"? But I think it is). I wish I had picked up knitting from my grandmother, she could knit all sorts of things. But my favorites are still these old "patch" quilts she did, I use them to this day.

When most I people I know try to fix something, they end up breaking it. I typically include myself on that list! :D

Isn't crochet very similar to knitting? I look at people doing both and the needles just go zip-zip-zip, I don't know the difference! ;)

Do you do handwriting analysis professionally? Someone did that for me once. But not professionally. It was just for fun anyway.

I want to be Martha Stewart but just in the skills department. To tell you the truth, I find her just a little creepy. It might just be that she isn't such a good tv host. I wish I had utensils. I lack utensils. My father, he lacks tools and utensils too. He foolishly wants to make things and fix things without them. Then they always end up a little "half-assed" (LOL). I keep telling him, "you need the right tools/utensils!". He wants to bake something "different" but all he has are eggs, flour and sugar. At least I know a bit better, but I think this "all thumbs" syndrome might be genetic!

Why, do you see them as a form of sexism or something? I think it's just about creating things, either for the sake of being creative or to improve your life in some way. Domestic things aren't necessarilly an "enslavement" or something for women. At least that's my take on it. I really do envy these crafty women (and men, mind you!). I think in a way, it's a lost art. Seating arrangements for instance, they were important to make sure people had good conversations with their seating partners, so they'd enjoy themselves. This kind of thing is a bit forgotten, these days. So even though Martha Stewart gives me the jeebies, I do like and appreciate what she does and the fact that she can do it. Of course, she has devoted her life to it, that probably makes it a little easier :)

Myself, I don't do gardening because a)I don't have a garden and b)I hate insects!
