Could google meet its match???  

I don't think so, its just a fad, and since they only are willing to pay Amerians to do the searching, there is a whole big 5.7 billion people they are excluding. In other words, its American only, and on the internet, that spells doom.

I doubt that at least for the time being, because what google has achieved in the field of search is not small or made overnight, remember how long did it take google to achieve this current position. Even if chacha.com is attracting news because of its innovation (which is good to try), i really don't think that they will be a threat to google, definitely not in the near future but in the far future who knows it could happen, only time will tell the answer. I searched in chacha.com using the guide and found it not so good experience and i guess it will take time for them to get used to it and make it faster and better.

google.com is imortal they are financing space progects they have the adsense they have email there name they have it all you cant mess with them imagine a website financing spage projects like the one announcet recently in 2006

I don't think Chacha could beat google yet...It hasn't beat yahoo yet. It has a long way to go...:)

Yes I've heard about that. I think that it is going to do well because it is more personal. By being more personal they can provide better results. Personally I think it is an excelent idea. I don't know if they can really afford to do this or if it is cost effective but for the end user it must be a pleasant experience.

Hmmm....just looked at the site, and it's one hell of an idea. And, it seems they only want US guides, which sounds sooooo good. I get tired of doing searches only to find half the results are companies in China, Korea, Aus, ect.....
They could give Google a run for their money......

Searching with a guide is a fabulous idea but it does not produce as many number of results and is also a bit slower. I searched for "Google Adsense" with the search guide and was able to find only 4 results which took nearly a minute. I think the chacha.com people should work more to produce as many number of results within a stipulated time. But the idea they have adopted is really over whelming.

I have recently tried chacha and to me it seems slow in responding to the queries. And I agree with the people here that it wouldn't overtake google overnight because has come a long way to get to its position today. It's true that chacha has a personal touch but it will take more than that to overthrow google.

I checked the site out, would you happen to know any of these guides, so we can get some work going heh.
