There was a story in the New York Post that talked about a man who can't be a fireman because he has a prosthetic leg. Now, he passed ALL the tests, in fact, came in 103 out of 600 candidates. But in New Jersey where he's applying, they have a policy that people with fake limbs can't be firefighters. Why the hell not???

I think they are going with the worst case scenario here. Will or could his prosthetic leg fail him. Probably if there is some doubt it would(i have some doubt) fail, he is denied. Also maybe he has a wooden leg!um... Take care Bonbon.

when i first read the name of this discussion i thought well of course...coz i immediately thought tht he wud not b able 2 pass the tests n all tht. but afta i read wot u said about him passing the tests, and passing them well...i agree with you...why the hell not?? if he passed the tests and there r no physical problems tht wud causes him ne problems being a firefighter, then nothin shud b stopping him fror joining the force.
