These days it seems that people will sue for just about any reason. Here are a few real life examples: J. Stambovsky purchased a house from H. Ackley in Nyack, NY for $650,000. When he later discovered that the house was haunted he sued Ackley for failing to disclose the presence of poltergeists. Ackley was found guilty because she had bragged to her friends for years that her house was haunted. She even did an interview for Readers Digest about haunted houses. J. Haimes, who claimed she had psychic abilities, sued Temple University Hospital after she had a CAT scan that she believes destroyed her powers and left her unable to continue her work as a calirvoyant. Amazingly she was awarded $986,465 by the jury but the Judge disagreed and threw out the verdict. there are so many more out there but I thought these two were really interesting. So what are your thoughts on these two lawsuits and on frivolous lawsuits in general. have you heard about any silly lawsuits? Share your thoughts with us. Thanks.

LOL! I love how both of your stories are linked to paranormal events, like hauntings and clairvoyance. I love reading about things like that, but I never knew that someone could sue over things of that nature! Goodness gracious, we are a really litigous society! *laugh* The most amazing thing about your stories here is that in both cases, they won! I can't believe that either of those cases were won, let alone both! It's really amazing that someone can sue for someone not telling them that a house is supposedly haunted, and another woman can sue for supposedly losing her clairvoyant powers due to a CAT scan. How crazy! I didn't think that enough of the public believed in such things for the cases to be won. (I have an open mind when it comes to just about anything, though! *laugh* I like to at least consider the possibilties of things like these.)

You know, I didn't even catch that when I was posting those two. Isn't that weird. I am totally open minded about paranormal things too so i guess it ididn't even phase me. Unfortunately people can sue for just about anything now a days. I guess they each had really good lawyers. I am a bit surprised that they won also.
